Last night after eating at Karim’s in Old Delhi  I couldn’t find my way back to the metro so I hired a rickshaw after a little barter.  At a red light the driver bought himself a slice of coconut.  The coconut-seller wandered off into the traffic and my driver turned around and offered me a piece.

Along with all the divisions we hear about in India, there’s a strong and less-often talked about inclusiveness.  When was the last time a taxi-driver offered you a slice of his apple?
